Summer Activity in Toronto ; Taste of Asia & other night markets

When summer is here in Toronto – there is a lot of different night/food markets that’s out! Let me name a few – Taste of Asia, Taste of Italy, Night it Up at Markham Civic Center, T&T Waterfront Night Market, Rib Feasts, and many more. If I remember correctly – almost every weekend there’s an event in Toronto. Don’t miss out these yummy events if you love street food!

Personally – I’m not a fan of street food. I like to enjoy my food sitting at a peaceful place and a table and chair to sit on. Street food is not my favorite.

YRT Markham Service 2012 STRIKE

I can give you one word to describe this strike “RIDICULOUS” – yes that’s the word. Can you believe that this strike has been going on for a couple months already? Did they think about the people that has to go to work and school by YRT?? They don’t consider it eh? Well – they do get paid a lot and I don’t get why they need more money for what they are doing. It’s just “RIDICULOUS” to me – the fair ain’t cheap riding on these buses too – what are they thinking?

If I were the boss – I would seriously fire all these workers and hire new ones. They don’t appreciate what they do or their salary. Why do they deserve it right? It’s full of bullshit to me. Some bus drivers are REALLY RUDE too – they need to be well trained. I’m pretty sure thousands of people are looking for jobs right now – if they don’t want their job – they can leave right?

Fantastic Curry House

I was introduced by a good friend of mine to this place – at first he said the food was awesome here – I’m like alright let’s go to try it out. I didn’t really know what he was talking about till the food came – I ordered what he ordered and guess what? The food was unique – not something I ate day to day. It was something new to me. Tom Yum soup with Pho? That’s an awesome combination that I never had. I went back the second time with my hubby and boy he loved it. It’s a great combination – not too boring. I loved it and time to time – I crave for it. Now – I’m in danger because I crave for it. The Tom Yum soup wasn’t too spicy at all – fits my taste. Some people like it more spicy and some don’t. If your there – you gotta try this out! Along with that – I ordered a side for us – Curry Roti was amazing the first time I had it – there is no doubt that I had to order it the second time. For sure I’ll order it the next time. The curry wasn’t too spicy and the roti was just fine – I love the softness and it wasn’t too thick. My first time having Roti too – not bad at all.

The price isn’t too bad eh? But for the Curry Roti – if you go there during 3PM-5PM it’s half the price of that. Pretty awesome eh? But that’s if you have time for tea time in the afternoon though. I wouldn’t mind going there when it’s my day off! YUMM. I love this place more and more.

Tea time menu! Feel free to check it out before you head to the restaurant. It even comes with a free drink too. How amazing is that eh? Too bad my hubby has work in the afternoon – otherwise I would go tomorrow. It’s an awesome restaurant. Here’s the location and info – let me know if this info helped.

Louis XIV @ Time Square, Richmond Hill

Louis XIV is where we got our wedding cake made – I have to say I’m pretty impress even with the sample cup cake she gave us. We went with the basics – just with Vanilla and Vanilla butter cream. I love it simple and clean and original and nothing is better than the original. I’m so happy with the recommendation with going with Louis XIV that is own by Elizabeth – she is a very talented baker and knows what she is doing and to impress us. The cakes surprisingly weren’t as expensive as we thought. I expected it to be over the top expensive – maybe around $500 to $600 bucks? But nope – no where near it and especially with the quality it gave us. Excellent. I can’t wait to recommend this place to my girlfriend when they get marry. Its a joy having this wedding cake of ours.

East House Kitchen @ Steeles Ave & Birchmount (Markham)

This was my first time at this restaurant after it changed owner. They didn’t change much with the interior – just changed the chairs and rearrange the restaurant tables and that was about it. We were here for Chinese New Year dinner and the whole restaurant were fully booked to the point they didn’t take walk in customers. This is a really small restaurant – can’t expect much right? It was the rushiest dinner I ever had because they were really packed – but never mind. The food was so-so, not that exciting and nothing to wow about. The price was pretty expensive for 7 people. Would I go back? Don’t think so – it’s not my style food.
