Firefly Seafood & Steak House @ First Markham Place

This restaurant has been in town for quite sometime now. I’ve been going here often – probably once or twice a month if you ask me. I’m not really a fan of this restaurant because I’m not into their food quality but my husband is. He likes the sizzling steak here. The price here for set dinners it not too bad either. Set dinners usually come with a soup & bun, meal, drink, and a dessert for a fixed cost. For me – I just feel like the food taste is a bit blend. Other than that – nothing really wrong with this restaurant.

[Travel] Pajo’s Famous Fish & Chips @ Vancouver

After the long walk to Stevenson Harbor – we headed to Pajo’s Famous Fish & Chips. They have the most famous fish and chips here – by looking at the line up. It’s a must try. My cousin is a fan of fish and chips and he wouldn’t mind having it every day. So if he says this place is good – it must be good.

This is how the fish and chips look like. The fish was very juicy and tender. I didn’t have too much because I had a huge lunch before than. It was quite expensive for one though – from $12.00 to $14.00. Pretty expensive if you compare it to restaurants. But it’s of course very different.

[Travel] Imperial Court Beijing Cuisine @ Vancouver, British Columbia

This was one of the fancy restaurant we went to when we were on our one week trip. I love the service there – it’s really what kind of price we pay for. If you want better service – you go to a much more expensive restaurant. For me – I love good service – so I don’t mind paying for the price.

I gotta say – the food was fantastic. I’m usually not a fan of Chinese food because to me – all the Chinese food I ever had tastes the same. But this restaurant does have some unique Chinese dishes. I would definitely visit this restaurant next time.

[Travel] Granville Island @ Vancouver

Our uncle and aunt took us to Granville Island on the same day they took us to Kitsalano beach. It amazes me how many theme parks they have within such a small town. By this time – I’m exhausted already from going to all these places. I only had a few days – but I manage to cover almost the whole Vancouver. Crazy traveling huh? Thank god that my uncle and aunt is retired too.

Granville Island is like a little small community/town. They have little gift shops, coffee shops, and meal areas. They even have a huge market here to share with their visitors. It was pretty busy that day because it was a Sunday

[Travel] Granville Island’s Public Market

The Public Market is HUGE! We took a cruise in there and boy was it crowded. They sale almost everything – they even have a food court inside. They have fresh baked food and different culture food. I didn’t get a chance to try the different food there because I just had lunch. But I did get some fresh huge strawberries!

[Travel] Rainflower Seafood Restaurant @ Richmond, British Columbia

This was the last day at Vancouver – a very sad day for us. We headed for lunch at Rainflower Seafood Restaurant. I love this place because they have quite a few unique dim sum. The food here was fabulous and delicious. No other words to describe it. But of course a little bit pricey. You pay for what you get right?

They even have durian cake there! My all time favorite and it was delicious. Reminds me of the one I ate in China!! It’s just too bad my other half doesn’t enjoy it as much as I do. For this fruit – it’s either you love it or you hate it.

[Travel] Empire Seafood Restaurant @ Richmond, Vancouver

Another dim sum restaurant. I gotta admit that Vancouver Dim Sum restaurant is way better than Toronto ones. They have much more unique varieties. Of course – at a much more expensive price too. You gotta pay for what you get right? The cost of living in Vancouver is much more higher then Toronto – that’s a fact. But somehow – their minimum wage is lower. How does that even work?

Was too busy eating – hardly had the chance to take any photos!

Note: This restaurant gets really busy – so do go early for seats. That’s what my aunt did and boy when we got there. There was already a huge line up! So yes – make your reservation a head of time. Vancouver dim sum restaurant is always busy – do they retire early?

[Travel] The One Restaurant @ Vancouver

When I was at Vancouver, my cousin took us to “The One” – it’s a bubble tea and snack place. Usually they go at night or even afternoon time. It was a different feel comparing to Toronto. Totally different – when we were there – there were a bunch of International students that was all dressed up. I was confused at first. Dressed up for bubble tea? Are you serious? But from what my cousin told me – yes they do dress up. It was kind of funny to me because it’s just bubble tea. What do you guys think?

This is part of the restaurant – it’s pretty small. They even have a grand piano on the floor too.

This was what we ordered. Nothing too special to me. But one thing is – when you order your bubble tea – don’t ask for “tapioca” – they call it “pearls”. That’s the only thing that’s different.

[Travel] Taiko Japanese Restaurant @ Downtown, Vancouver

Since we had a la carte lunch the other day at Sushi Garden – I wanted to try All You Can Eat Lunch at Taiko this time. My cousins love it here – but for me. It’s just a little different from Toronto. They have a limit for their sashimi. Which I find it kind of weird – they have a limit on other things too. But overall, their sashmi is pretty fresh and it melts in my mouth. The price was alright to me. We end up eating a lot of cooked food. The menu variety was very limited. Not my favorite place to have lunch for sure. But I do believe for dinner – they have a better variety.

[Travel] Sushi Garden @ Kingsway & Sussex, Vancouver

This was one of the sushi restaurants I visited for lunch when I was at Vancouver. I’ve heard many many good reviews of this restaurant – but never really gotten a chance to try it out till now. How was it? I gotta say – they have some pretty unique sushi rolls. This restaurant is not an all-you-can-eat restaurant. A la cart menu has a wide variety. For 6 people – we paid about $85.00 – not so bad eh? The raw sashimi is very fresh and mouth watering.

Some of these rolls I never tried before – it was huge – not really my style. It was just a mixture of different things. But I do like the spicy scallop roll. The sushi was delicious. Overall – I was happy with the food we ordered. If you plan to have lunch or dinner there – do make a reservation. From what my cousins told me – this place is always pack! Good luck and enjoy this review!
